FAQs for Licensees

Yes. However, you would first need to obtain a license from us (see below).

Yes. But first check that the book is not already available in your language. If it isn’t available, ask us for a license agreement.

A license is a contract or agreement between us (KingsPress) and you that gives you right to publish our title. You may get exclusive rights (e.g., to publish in a foreign language) or non-exclusive rights (e.g., to print in English in a certain market). Check out our sample license agreement.

Translating and printing a book costs time and money. A license protects your investment and helps you recover any costs you may incur.

An exclusive license costs USD100 in the form of an advance against royalties.

Then you probably won’t be able to afford the costs of translating, editing, and printing a book. However, in certain markets (e.g., developing nations) we may be able to find sponsors to assist with these costs. Feel free to ask.

A royalty is a small percentage of the book sale price that is paid to the rights holder (KingsPress).

Royalties are based on the sale price. If you give a book away for free, the royalty is zero. You can give away as many books as you like, and we encourage you to do so. The message of grace needs to be heard.

The easiest way to publish a book is as in an ebook format (eg: PDF, Mobi, ePub). Once you have prepared the book it takes less than an hour to upload a book to Kindle. It only takes minutes to put a PDF on Gumroad.

For paperback printing, the easiest option is to use KDP (Amazon).

Sorry, no. We are not geared up to edit and produce foreign-language books at this time.

Send us your name, address, and intended language and we will send you an obligation-free license agreement within one week.
